Rivermist Alpacas is located halfway between Toodyay and Northam, approximately an hour’s drive from Perth, Western Australia in the Shire of Northam. The 30 acre farm is nestled in the Avon Valley with a variety of native eucalypts sloping down to the Avon River.
Rivermist contains two areas. The first is an alpaca stud and the second is a tourist farm. The stud has been breeding fine fibred, coloured alpaca for three years and we are just starting to concentrate on breeding grey alpaca. Besides the alpaca, the tourist farm has angora goats, donkeys and native Australian birds, both in the aviaries and wild on the property.
We also have a large shop displaying affordable alpaca products and hand crafts, and Devonshire teas are served here at weekends. There is a guided tour of the farm twice a day, Thursday to Sunday. Visits to Rivermist are perfect for groups, organisations, families and children.
Rivermist Alpacas is open 10am-4pm, Thursday-Sunday, April-Christmas.
